Pet of the Week

Sapphire

Sapphire

My name is Sapphire and I came to the shelter as a stray in January 2012. I am a 1 year old female with beautiful blue eyes! When the shelter people first saw me, they were amazed at how blue they were! I have a very shy personality, so I would do best in a quieter home. It can be very noisy and overwhelming here at the shleter, so with a little patience and socialization, I'll be well on my way to coming out of my shell. I'm very sweet and I feel the safest when you hold me close to you. With the right home, I will make the purr-fect companion!

Our Services

The Hornell Animal Shelter
provides safe and friendly shelter and professional efficient adoption services to the area's dogs and cats from our clean, modern facilities.

The Hornell Animal Shleter

To assure the safety and health of our animals we provide all our dogs with vaccines, deworming, baths and nail trims. Each of our dogs receives walks and lots of playtime!

Each of our cats is quarantined for 10 days upon arrival at the shelter and is then tested for feline leukemia and feline aids. They also receive a full battery of important vaccinations prior to their availability for adoption.

To learn more about how easy and rewarding it is to adopt an animal, please call us at 607-324-1270, or stop by and see us!

Did You Know?
You can tell that your dog has an earache by the way he is acting. One thing the dog will do is scratch his ear and whine, or will turn his head sideways. If this happens there could be something in his ear. Do not try to get the thing out of your dog's ear; instead call your veterinarian to treat your dog's ear.
