Sapphire

Sapphire

My name is Sapphire and I came to the shelter as a stray in January 2012. I am a 1 year old female with beautiful blue eyes! When the shelter people first saw me, they were amazed at how blue they were! I have a very shy personality, so I would do best in a quieter home. It can be very noisy and overwhelming here at the shleter, so with a little patience and socialization, I'll be well on my way to coming out of my shell. I'm very sweet and I feel the safest when you hold me close to you. With the right home, I will make the purr-fect companion!

Our Place

The Hornell Animal Shelter
makes available 16 dog runs with inside/outside access. The facility offers a separate room for puppies, and two specialized rooms for cats including a 9 cage quarantine room.

The Hornell Animal Shleter

In addition to the clean, friendly areas we make available for our animals, our "people" office is modern, spacious and welcoming. We have a well-equipped examination room, an animal bathing area and administrative office.

We are located on the Industrial Road, just north of Hornell. Our big sign is visible from Route 36 on your right if you are traveling north. We would love to have you stop in for a visit!

Did You Know?
During hostile encounters, the dominant cat always stares straight at his rival, who then looks away as a means of reducing the hostility. You look VERY big to your cat, so she knows you’re the dominant one. When you scold your cat, she turns her back or looks away as a means of reducing the hostility. She’s not sulking -- she’s surrendering!
