----------------Volunteer Orientation------------------March 9th (Tuesday) at 5:30 here at the shelter. We ask that all new volunteers go through a volunteer orientation. This will allow you to become more familiar with our shelter and the rules as well as all the different things you can do to volunteer. This also includes a tour of the building and meeting all the wonderful animals. The orientation normally last for about 30 minutes. If you are planning on attending, please call ahead so we can know how many to expect.
-------------------Free Rabies Clinic----------------------We will be having a free rabies clinic on Saturday, March 27th from 9am-11am at the Hornell Fire Hall. All dogs much be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier. If you would like your pet to receive the 3 year vaccine, you must bring their last current rabies certificate. Otherwise, your pet will just receive the 1 year vaccine.
---------------Lupine Collors for Sale------------------We are now selling Lupine collars and leashes up at the shelter. There are many different designs and colors. Prices range from $8 - $14 for dog collars, $11 - $17 for leashes and cat collars are $9. These collars are very durable and have a lifetime guarantee.
-----------Used Clothing Drop-Off Shed------------We now have a shed to the right of our building to collect donations of clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, drapes and stuffed toys. These items will then be collected by St. Pauly Textile Inc. and we will receive money from the items taken. Your donations of these items are greatly appreciated because they will be sent to people who can use it them all over the world. You can even receive a tax deduction for your donation - receipts are on the shed. To help keep your donations clean and dry, please put them in plastic bags. Items that are NOT accepted are rags, fabric scraps, pillows, toys or household goods.

---------------------Paw Prints----------------------Come up to the shelter and buy a paw print to be put on display with your name on it for $1. You will also receive a raffle ticket to be put in a drawing to win a free "Dirty Dog Bath."
-----------------Animal Note Cards----------------Photography by Jenna Leaman / An assortment of cards are available for sale at the shelter / $2 per card. *With an appointment, our shelter photographer can take pictures of your pet and personalize your own set of note cards. --or-- bring in your own digital pictures of your pet to be put on note cards.

---------------------Dirty Dog Bath------------------------Does your "dirty dog" need a bath? For $20, we will shampoo, dry and brush your dog. To make an appointment, give us a call at 324-1270.

---------------------Birthday Parties----------------------Is your child looking for something fun and different to do for their birthday? We offer a fun afternoon of games, cake and humane education. They also get to hang out with some of the animals. $10 per child.
----------------------Micro-Chipping----------------------We are now offering micro-chipping at our shelter for $20. If you would like to have your dog micro-chipped, just call us at 324-1270 to make an appointment.
------------Returnable Bottles / Cans---------------We will gladly take your returnable bottles and cans off your hands! Drop them off at the shelter on Industrial Park Road.
-------------------Used Cell Phones----------------------Please donate your used cell phones, MP3 players and digital cameras to help raise much needed funds for the Hornell Area Humane Society. The Humane Society will receive money from the Phone raiser for each item collected. Phone raiser is a company that specializes in recycling and refurbishing used technology. Your donation will help the environment. Your unwanted cell phones will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and reused. If improperly disposed of, the cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of drinking water. Your donation may be tax deductible… Please drop off cell phones at the Hornell Area Humane Society on Industrial Park Road.
