My name is Apollo and I came to the shelter as a stray in August 2010. I am an adult male Chocolate Lab. Like any other Lab, I have a lot of energy! But I love to be around people! I get very excited when someone comes into my kennel with me...I just can't stop bouncing my front end! I will make a wonderful companion with someone who likes to go for long walks and enjoys spending time with their dog. I have so much love to give!

My name is Asia and I came to the shelter as a stray in October 2009. I am a 1 year old spayed female Pit mix. I am at my happiest when someone is paying attention to me. I love to be around people! I love that one-on-one time. I also love to go out for walks! And if you're looking for a dog that enjoys playing in water, that would be me!! We have a little pool here at the shelter that I love to get into and splash around in and lay in. So if you have pond or something, I would be the perfect dog for you! My name is Buck and I came to the shelter in August 2010. I am a 1 year old neutered male Beagle mix. I am such a smart boy! I know how to sit & stay, and the shelter people have yet to learn what else I do. I am very people friendly!

My name is Caroline and I came to the shelter as a stray in June 2010. I am a 3 year old female Hound mix. I am just your typical Hound...I love to sniff everything! The second I get outside, my nose is to the ground! I don't know that much as far as obedience training, but if you clap your hands, I'll come right to you side. And I love to gently jump up on your chest and lick your neck. I am a very sweet girl!

If you're wondering how I got my name, it's just like it sounds...it was quite the chase for the shelter people to catch me! But I have turned out to be a very nice, friendly dog after all. I love to be around people! I also enjoy being outside to play and run around. I am also very smart...I know how to sit, shake and stay.

My name is Cheeka and I was surrendered to the shelter in August 2010. I am a 10 year old spayed female Rottweiler. I actually originally came to the shelter about 2 years ago, but I had to come back because my owner passed away. I am a very nice girl! Because of my age, the shelter staff have decided that there will be no adoption fee for me!

My name is Emma and I was surrendered to the shelter in June 2010. I am a 7 year old spayed female Terrier mix. If you're the type of owner that likes to play dress up and spoil your dogs, then I may be the perfect dog for you! I love to wear little sweaters! It makes me feel like the little princess that I am. I am also a snuggler. I'll sleep with you everynight and I love to snuggle under the covers. When it comes to other animals, I would prefer to be the only one, but I do get along with other dogs...as long as I can be the boss! And the shelter people recommend that I go to a home with no children.

My name is Fiona and I came to the shelter as a stray in April 2010. I am a 3 year old female Hound mix. As far as my personality, I am just your typical Hound...bark and all! I am very friendly and I enjoy going outside to play and to go for nice long walks.

My name is Forrest and I flew to the shelter on May 30, 2010, along with my friend, Jed, through Pilots N Paws. We came all the way from North Carolina! We needed immediate rescue because we were scheduled for gassing from a kill shelter in North Carolina. But thanks to the Hornell Humane Society, we were able to live! I am a 4 year old male Hound mix. We are both awesome dogs! We are both at our happiest when we are around people. The first thing I did when we got off the plane was greet all the little kids that were around. And when you go in my kennel here at the shelter, I'll jump up, put my front paws on the door and lean backwards so I can put my head on your chest! All I want is to be loved. We are so grateful that we get a second chance at life and are looking forward to the day when we find our forever homes.

My only issue is that I have severe separation anxiety. I need to be adopted into a home where there is always someone home. If it wasn't for that, I'd be the perfect dog. I just love to be around people and I love to go outside for walks! I am excellent on the leash...even young kids can walk me! With the right home, I will make a wonderful companion.

My name is Victor and I came to the shelter as a stray in July 2010. I am a 10+ year old male Beagle. I am a shy, but sweet boy. I would really like a quiet home. I do have a few health issues that you need to be aware of if you're thinking about adopting me...because of my age, I have bad teeth due to severe tartar that could really use vet care in the near future. I also have a heart murmur. But reguardless of all these issues, I still deserve a loving home just like everyone else. My personality is just as sweet and I need a home just as much as everyone else. All I want is to live the rest of my life out to the fullest, in a loving, caring home.
