Pet of the Week

Sapphire

Sapphire

My name is Sapphire and I came to the shelter as a stray in January 2012. I am a 1 year old female with beautiful blue eyes! When the shelter people first saw me, they were amazed at how blue they were! I have a very shy personality, so I would do best in a quieter home. It can be very noisy and overwhelming here at the shleter, so with a little patience and socialization, I'll be well on my way to coming out of my shell. I'm very sweet and I feel the safest when you hold me close to you. With the right home, I will make the purr-fect companion!

Did you know?

At one time fish was thought to be a major cause of skin disease in cats. Now we have all come to realize that the flea is the main culprit when it comes to skin irritation in cats and dogs.

However not many pet owners are aware that our pets suffer food allergies which can cause dermatological discomfort. In fact according to Nigel Taylor the Express vet one percent of all skin problems in cats and dogs are caused by dietary allergies.
